DIVERTIMENTOS COLLECTION

Thank you for visiting my art portfolio and considering my work. This portfolio features my mixed media abstract paintings; the original is sold with a white mat - total size 11" x 14". The opening and the actual size of the artwork is 8" x 10".
If you are shopping for home decoration prints - this artwork is also available in a variety of sizes as a print and is also featured on several home goods, lifestyle and personal items.

I created this abstract painting on a watercolor paper with acrylics, inks and watercolors. The painting is accented by black and/or white enamel paint applied in dripping manner which is characteristic for my Divertimento series. I enjoy the drip technique which was frequently used by Jackson Pollock in his action paintings.

Divertimentos – are mine small informal abstract pieces of artwork. They are mostly lighthearted and created to please and amuse viewers, although sometimes they contain peculiar messages and concealing symbols. Most of my divertimentos depict scenery or events encountered during my extensive travels.
About this Divertimento: Henry Hudson in his book referred to Uruguay as a Purple Land. Most likely because of the stretches of the purple sage which cover the rolling hills of the countryside. This inspired me to create this Divertimento which is dedicated to this awesome country of gauchos, good wine and friendly people.

I borrowed the term divertimento from music, because I like what it represents: “…an instrumental composition in several movements, light and diverting in character…” and that’s exactly what my visual divertimentos are.
